About

Clonkies is a father/son project by UX/UI designer Ballzerino and his 4yr old Art Director. His love for drawing stemmed from a young age, where he spent countless hours doodling robots on his notepads in class. Now on the wrong side of 30, his unwavering love for drawing robots and 80s and 90s pop-culture will forever be immortalised on the blockchain. This collection of 8,888 randomly generated robots with unique and quirky traits is an ode to our childhoods and a bygone era.

Story

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, a band of awkward robots 🤖 known as Clonkies, left their homes on Clonk-9 with orders from diktatorBot to orbit planet Earth 🚀🌎 to gather intel and help prepare for an invasion. Clonk-9 is running out of the precious metals needed to manufacture their spare parts 🔩🛠.

In the year 1990, they established themselves in orbit and extended their receivers 📡, picking up any signals 📶 they could and started analysing 📟…

Thanks to humans' dumb luck, the Clonkies began intercepting radio waves and TV 📺 signals. As time went by, Clonkies learned our language and ways from TV shows, ads, music, consuming endless hours of pop culture.

Time ⏳ went by - weeks, months, years, and Clonkies started to decipher, understand complex human emotions, and eventually enjoying human culture. They would gather to watch re-runs of Simpsons and Seinfeld episodes, they knew all the lyrics to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, they cried 😢 (in their own way) when Ross and Rachel were “on a break”.

Eventually they forgot all about their objective. When their supplies started to run low they descended upon Earth, integrating themselves into society, wearing elaborate disguises and hoping to go unnoticed. Their return to Clonk-9 was inevitable, but they had been systematically reprogrammed, forever changed by human culture.

Now willing to fight to preserve it, they have set up relay stations on their home turf to spread re-runs so that they can rally support among the locals to change diktatorBot's plans to invade. Did they succeed?! Only time will tell....

  • We plan to launch our initial collection in early summer of 2022.

  • There will be a total of 8,888 Clonkies. Mint price will be announced closer to release.

  • Our initial collection of Clonkies NFTs will live on the ETH blockchain.

  • The initial 8,888 Clonkies will be randomly selected from over 300,000 total unique combinations with varying rarity across different categories.

  • There will be some special 1/1s randomly distributed throughout the collection. Everybody will have an equal chance at getting a rare or 1/1.

  • You will only be able to mint a Clonky through our official website. In order to guarantee a mint you will need to be on the allowlist.

  • If you are on the allowlist you will be guaranteed 1 mint. We’ve made this decision to ensure the fairest distribution.

  • Our allowlist gives you the opportunity to pre-register your wallet address, guaranteeing 1 mint. It is assigned by genuine participation in our community and through a variety of different initiatives and collaborations.

  • Anything you like. Clonkies will be a CC0 collection meaning you, the owner, own the rights to the art and can do whatever you like with them.
